University of Florida – Hispanic Heritage Month

Objective

Help create the theme and logo for the University of Florida’s Hispanic Heritage Month, developing a visual identity that could be used across promotional materials and digital channels.

Strategy

The concept was inspired by the sun parakeet, a bird native to Brazil known for its intelligence and role as a seed disperser. Despite being endangered, the sun parakeet continues to spread seeds and contribute to its environment.

This idea was used as a metaphor for Hispanic and Latino communities – highlighting passion, resilience, and the impact of sharing talents and culture within communities. The visual identity centered on celebration, vibrancy, and cultural influence.

My Role

I was a part of the theme development, visual direction, and logo design used across Hispanic Heritage Month materials. My involvement included assisting with creative concepts and applications across digital and promotional assets.

Execution #1 — Logo Design

The logo was used across multiple touchpoints, including promotional materials, apparel, flyers, and merchandise.

Execution #2 — Owned Media | Instagram & Facebook

Supported the development of social media creatives using the campaign theme and logo. These visuals were designed to promote Hispanic Heritage Month programming and increase engagement.

Impact: Strengthened campaign visibility and supported awareness across campus digital channels.
